How Much Cold Patch Do I Need?
The amount you need depends on the repair’s volume and the packaged product’s stated yield after placement or compaction. A bag weight alone is not a universal coverage rate.
What to do
- Measure the repair’s length, width, and average depth at several representative points.
- Use the Patcher iPhone scan for an individual repair rather than relying on a rough visual estimate.
- Check the exact product’s current package or technical data sheet for its yield or coverage basis.
- Allow only for the waste or contingency appropriate to your project; do not substitute a generic rate from another brand.
- Round up to whole packages in the manner recommended by the seller or manufacturer.
Practical notes
Irregular holes should not be treated as perfect boxes without checking multiple depths.
Compacted quantity can differ from loose material volume.
Save the product name and lot information with the order.
